New Guitar Music For Beginners
Carols for guitar, Christmas songs for children, Xmas songs with TAB?
Composing and arranging beginner guitar music is my vocation. Are you interested in carols for guitar, or other new guitar music for beginners? I am a professional guitar tutor and I love composing and arranging music. Modern technology enables me to publish it too using Score Exchange and Lulu. This is something I spent my whole life learning to do - how much more personal can you get?
Although e-books seem to be the way forward, and proved very popular over Christmas, I still like the feel of a nice, new book. From personal experience, the books generally arrive within two weeks and are attractively produced. The big advantage is that I don't have to keep huge stocks of books in and rush off to post and the print quality so far has been excellent....

Buy Traditional Folksongs for Flute and Fingerstyle Guitar
A book written with beginner guitarists in mind
Why did I write this book of folk tunes for guitar and flute? Well, firstly I love the tunes. It is a collection of traditional songs for guitar and flute. Many years ago one of my favourite occupations was to play and sing in sessions. Then life got in the way. When I hear folk tunes it brings back those days and many memories of singing and playing - and I just love the combination of classical guitar and flute!
A collection of well loved songs and tunes from around the world properly transcribed in full in traditional notation for flute (or violin) and but professionally edited guitar TAB is given for non-readers on acoustic guitar. This beautifully presented book is an ideal present for the guitarist, flautist or folk music enthusiast.
Why Not Buy A Book Of Traditional Folksongs? - Folksongs Arranged for Flute and Guitar
This book of traditional tunes was a labour of love. I have been arranging folksongs for my students years and still do. These folktunes are arranged for a particular favourite instrument combination - flute and guitar - however they could equally well be played by two guitars or even guitar and fiddle! It's all good!
Sibelius Software - The programme I use to notate my music.
There are many notator programmes in the marketplace ranging from the free and unreliable ones to industry standards like Sibelius and Finale. These are the programmes used by big names in music publishing. Personally, I use Sibelius and have done since version 2. It is user friendly and the results are great. There is also a cheaper student version available for those who would make more limited use.
Christmas Carols for Guitar Solo
Traditional Christmas Carols For Guitar Solo
This is a lovely book designed with retro Edwardian Script titles. The cover I designed from my own night photo of Lincoln Cathedral. The carols are a mixture of favorites and lesser known carols that I love. There are single note versions for beginners and more complex versions for the more experienced acoustic guitar player. TAB versions are included.
Traditional Carols for Guitar Solo - And My First Very Easy Book of Christmas Carols
Looking for something even easier? Clicking on this button will take you to a page where you can buy My First Very Easy Book of Christmas Carols. This book has single note melodies, note name noteheads and guitar chord letters. The Lulu Marketplace is the most direct place to order this book. In my experience delivery is usually fast, quality usually good, but after sales service pretty non-existent unless you pay for the insured postage which is much higher than the economy.
Traditional Christmas Carols for Guitar Ensemble
Christmas Tunes for Guitar Groups
Another retro feel book for those who like their chestnuts roasting on an open fire and candles on their tree... Lovely retro Edwardian fonts give this book a special traditional feel! and it contains simple but effective, melodic arrangements for flexible guitar ensembles. The download version is a bestseller in my store - but the print version is just lovely.

New Christmas Guitar Music
I shall add information about new guitar arrangements here. The free ones on my website tend to be notation only because I do seriously want my students to read music (although sometimes the TAB slips through by accident). Arrangements I sell in Scorch or PDF will usually include TAB. Sibelius scores often also have individual parts and you can listen to the entire MP3 there.
- The Huron Carol - Fingerstyle Guitar Solo
This short solo is easy to play, the standard is around grade 1 level.
Free Sheet Music for Guitar
Free Guitar Music in PDF format
Obviously the more time I can devote to my music, the more I can get done so I do charge a fee for my books. However some music I do offer for free, this is generally easy music for beginners. You can see examples of this on my guitarlincs lens, or alternatively why not visit my baby website? The address to copy is http://www.guitarlincs.com
Educational Music for Guitar - Guitar Methods
Songs of the Reef
Actually these are not songs at all - they are Songs Without Words! As you will see if you click through the link to my book store, this is available with and without TAB. Some teachers prefer not to use it, and others prefer to have it available. The TAB Edition of Songs of the Reef also has a sea theme, led by the Octopus on the cover. This was written as a fun way of getting children used to high and low versions of the same note! Song of the Reef contains easy to read large notation with note names.
Band In A Jam
Guitar parts....
For more information on this guitar based project, please visit the Band In A Jam lens. It is a full band project with augmented guitar section.
To see more, click on the picture:
This book contains all the six string guitar parts for Band in a Jam which aims to encourage improvising in a band context. (This was written for KS2 and KS3 rock bands with orchestral parts added and is suitable also for guitar projects and class bands). Beginner parts have note names in the noteheads and stave size is larger to facilitate reading. Harder parts may also have TAB versions. Scales for jamming are given in easy, first position and higher position forms with notation and TAB. Each scale has a corresponding fretboard diagram showing most of the notes in the range of acoustic guitar. This is a very visual book, intended to be useful to all readers. A whole fretboard view of each scale (in diagram form with notenames) is also given for the more adventurous player. For the last tune only there are also suggested arpeggio patterns for tapping. These are in music, TAB and whole fretboard diagram form.
I hope you enjoyed this lens. All of these books have been a labour of love. I use them with my own students and hope that other people will feel inspired to give them a try too! Please sign the guestbook. Thank you!
